Conference Topics
Brie Malarkey is available to give presentations or speak at events related to family businesses. She has worked along side her children and partner to build and grow her various herbal product companies.
Working with Officials in the Cannabis Space
Brie has extensive experience in all aspects of the cannabis supply chain - cultivating, manufacturing, and dispensing craft, artisan cannabis products in Oregon since 2014.
She has worked tirelessly to develop streamlined, standard operations to ensure compliance with various entities, including FDA product labeling; USDA Organic Program; OSHA worker safety; ODA kitchen and food safety in addition to compliance in cultivation with pesticides approved for us with marijuana and farm regulations; as well as OLCC for marijuana licensing regulations. She views streamlined, standard operations as paramount in the success of her business and work alongside various government agencies to help ensure worker safety, consumer safety, and inventory management in this new emerging industry. She works with local and state regulators in the state of Oregon by participating in round tables and policy discussions to help evolve and better the marijuana program within the state.
Contributions toward expanding the body of scientific knowledge related to medicinal cannabis cultivation, manufacturing, and dispensing.
A self-taught herbalist, entrepreneur, and mother, Brie Malarkey has worked hard to educate the general public on medicinal herbs including cannabis and often speaks at local conferences and in the community. She works to share information on various consumption methods, tools, and the current state of medical marijuana laws in Oregon. In addition she educates on the latest scientific concepts and understanding of medical cannabis so that patients may better understand its diverse medicinal properties. Understanding this “pharmaceutical treasure trove” will hopefully make its utilization more efficient and effective (and less daunting for those who are new to this ancient herbal medicine). Helping patients better understand medical cannabis are the advances in laboratory analysis combined with the ongoing research taking place around the world. Much of this research is aimed at delineating the therapeutic effects of the various chemical compounds in cannabis, especially the cannabinoids and terpenoids.
Experience in all three aspects of supply chain: cultivation, manufacturing, and dispensing.
Brie Malarkey is the founder of Sun Breeze Inc, a seed-to-sale cannabis company from Southern Oregon in continuous operation since 2014.
Sunna Ra Acres, her medicinal herb farm in Shady Cove, Oregon, started as a food producing entity in 2011 growing produce as well as raising hogs and dairy goats. In 2014 the farm transitioned to growing cannabis and other medicinal herbs side-by-side under the OHA medical marijuana program and then as one of the top 40 licensed OLCC recreational marijuana farms in 2016. The farm cultivates as nature intended and with the health of the end user in mind using living soils, hugelkultur, and a permaculture approach.
Sun God Medicinals, their production or manufacturing company is an USDA certified organic bio-regional herbal company with a mission to blend & extract quality, healing herbs from the northwest. The company ethically produces craft herbal teas, artisan tinctures, soothing topicals, and more. The product line aims to help people find the right herbs, for the right symptoms. Sun God Medicinals was one of the first licensed Oregon processors to manufacture cannabis products and utilizes all organic standards in the manufacturing of the cannabis product line. As of the fall of 2018 she operates a 4,800 square foot cannabis manufacturing facility as well as 2,500 square foot herbal and hemp facility in Oregon for the brands Sun God Medicinals, Ra Cannabis, Ra Herbals, and Ra Hemp.
Breeze Botanicals in Gold Hill and Ashland, Oregon, her dispensaries, were the first to open in the region for medical patients in 2014 and then the first in the entire state of Oregon to be licensed as retailers for adult-use by the OLCC in October of 2016. The stores go beyond state of Oregon required testing to ensure product quality and display herbs in symptom relief categories like sleep, digestion, mood and muscle ease to help demystify medical cannabis, hemp, and other medicinal herbs that work together, synergistically.
